Commonwealth Games Appointments

WHUA are delighted to announce that two members of our international panels have been appointed, by the FIH, to the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham this year.

Cathy Wright  has been appointed as an Umpire, and Chris Brewer has been appointed as a Technical Official for the event.

After the news of his appointment broke, Chris had the following to say:

I am absolutely delighted to have been appointed by the FIH as a Technical Official to the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham. I know how vocal the Welsh supporters can be and having witnessed at first hand the amazing noise a capacity crowd can make am really looking forward to the tournament. It will be an opportunity to renew old friendships and make new ones and if Birmingham can arrange for good weather, that would be the icing on the cake!

Cathy and Chris are two of our most experienced officials and the WHUA would like to wish them all the very best with their appointments and hope they have a great experience at the games.
